ABOUT SUBSCRITION
Series B opens with Giovanni Antonini and features conductors including Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov, Antonio Pappano and Jakub Hrůša. Among the soloists are Evgeny Kissin, Víkingur Ólafsson and Nicola Benedetti. The season spans styles from Baroque to the 21st century.
The opening Baroque–Classical programme will be conducted by Giovanni Antonini. Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov presents a blend of traditional and contemporary works, while Antonio Pappano leads a one-act opera by Luigi Dallapiccola. Jakub Hrůša explores an inspired combination of Josef Suk, Britten and Dessner. Cristian Măcelaru returns after a decade, presenting Wynton Marsalis’s violin concerto with Nicola Benedetti. Also featured are Czech Philharmonic musicians Jan Fišer, Václav Petr and Karolina Pancernaite, mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron, pianists Evgeny Kissin and Víkingur Ólafsson, and a surprising touch—two electric guitars.
