ABOUT SUBSCRITION
In its 130th season, Subscription Series C expands to five concerts and introduces a new tradition: four performances by the Czech Philharmonic and one by a top international guest. This season, the series concludes with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano.
Of the Czech Philharmonic’s concerts, two will be led by Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov, featuring works including Stravinsky’s Pulcinella. Simon Rattle adds Lutosławski’s Chain III to his programme, while Stéphane Denève ventures beyond his usual French repertoire with a detour into Gershwin’s America. Among returning soloists are cellist Sol Gabetta, violinist Jan Mráček, and pianist Emanuel Ax. Two artists will make their Czech Philharmonic debuts: French-Albanian pianist Marie-Ange Nguci and Israeli violist Amihai Grosz.
