Oliver, a small, malnourished orphaned boy is sold from the provincial poorhouse into the service of a funeral home. But he soon escapes from his new masters to the big city of London, where he is taken in by a gang of child thieves and pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. However, on his very first attempt at theft, Oliver is caught and arrested. His victim, the kind and good-hearted Mr. Brownlow, takes him in and cares for him in his palatial home. Fearful of exposing his gang and their hiding place, the cunning Fagin summons the ruthless criminal Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap Oliver...

This award-winning musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' famous novel Oliver Twist is the second time on a Czech stage since its world premiere in 1960.
