ABOUT SUMSCRITION
This season’s orchestral series blends tradition with bold choices—featuring just three large symphonies, a range of shorter works, and iconic pieces like Mozart’s Requiem and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov leads two of the programmes.
Other concerts in the series are curated by Simon Rattle, who combines Debussy, Messiaen and Mahler; Jakub Hrůša, who places Sibelius alongside Suk; and Thomas Adès, presenting the most contemporary programme, including his own compositions. Giovanni Antonini brings a fresh take on Viennese classics with the Czech Student Philharmonic. Among this season’s featured soloists are mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená, pianist Mao Fujita, violinists Augustin Hadelich and Josef Špaček, and cellist Anastasia Kobekina in her Czech Philharmonic debut.
