ABOUT THE CONCERT 

Shostakovich's music is often introspective, but it is also imbued with great wisdom and hope for a better future for the world. The suite for soprano, violin, cello, and piano titled Seven Romances on Poems by Alexander Blok was first presented to the public in 1967 and ranks among the highlights of Shostakovich's vocal compositions.
