ABOUT
It has been more than 30 years since several classical music students succumbed to the temptation to try playing brass instruments and thus unexpectedly formed a successful brass group.
The ensemble was formed in 1992 and has since then gained international recognition thanks to its unique combination of musical genres. But prepare yourselves for a group which surpasses the traditional boundaries of a classical brass band. The group, known as Mnozil Brass, play a diverse mix of styles from classical to jazz, to pop as well as world music. Essentially, any music you can think of, they can play. In addition to traditional brass instruments, they also utilise less common ones. One example is their use of specially modified flutes and bass pipes, which adds another musical dimension to their performances.
The band’s performances are always filled with energy and fun for audiences. They achieve this by adding humour and theatrical elements to their performances. Additionally, their interactions with the audience are captivating. They present themselves as actors and musicians, rather than just classical musical performers.
Our Prague audiences have historically enjoyed the performances of Mnozil Brass. They regularly play at the Prague Proms festival and always receive a standing ovation. During their career, they have also released several albums and toured the world.
This time they will be guests of the Prague Proms 2025 festival to celebrate their thirty-year career with their birthday program called Jubelei – 30 Jahre MNOZIL BRASS.
