The National Theatre
Evenings in the theatre II
The subtitle of this group could be: "Navigating Fate". The series opens with Verdi's Otello, delving into themes of jealousy and intrigue from Shakespeare's drama. After the emotional experience with Otello, we explore the destinies of women associated with the monastery in Bílá Voda, an adaptation of Kateřina Tučková's novel. The duo of operas Don Buoso and Gianni Schicchi focuses on the desire for inheritance and money, which can lead to hell. Following a musical journey through Florence, we encounter the Laterna Magika's new production "In Our Hands", full of circus sparkle and acrobatics. A return to roots awaits us with the baroque comedic opera Platée, mocking naivety, love, and marriage.
