Description
A hit of international festivals finally arrives in Prague. Rasposo Company, beloved by Letná audiences, returns with a brand-new show.
A visually mesmerizing performance that will make you question even your own perception.
Hourvari is a contemporary circus piece in which acrobatics are not just spectacle but an integral part of the story. On stage, acrobats and puppets meet—almost indistinguishable from one another—sharing the same space and physical reality. Gradually, it becomes unclear who is leading and who is being led.
Hourvari keeps the audience in a state of tension that is not only aesthetic, but existential. It is a performance that compels us to rethink what it means to be human, when authenticity and illusion hold equal power. It draws you into a world where reality fractures and reassembles itself.
Audiences of Letní Letná already know Rasposo. In 2015, they presented their acclaimed show Morsure, earning rave reviews and standing ovations every night.
Rasposo Company is supported by the Ministry of Culture, DRAC Bourgogne–Franche-Comté, and the Regional Council of Bourgogne–Franche-Comté.

About
Founded in 1987, Rasposo has been part of the contemporary circus landscape for 35 years. It was established by Fanny and Joseph Molliens, the parents of Marie Molliens. Today, the company performs under its own big top, though its roots lie in street theatre.
While it places strong emphasis on circus techniques, it also engages the audience’s poetic sensibility through theatrical staging. Courage and beauty in acrobatics, combined with emotional expression, become not mere demonstrations of skill, but physical embodiments of real feelings shared with the audience.
“Circus is a universal language that allows extreme feelings and emotions to be expressed through the body, and uniquely, to be physically transmitted to the audience. The courage and beauty of certain acrobatic feats, combined with emotional expression, cease to be mere demonstrations of skill and become the physical expression of real emotions shared with the audience.”
— Fanny Molliens
"The aesthetic of Hourvari is exquisite. Director Marie Molliens stages like a painter. Muted garnet, blood red, the yellow glow of footlights, and multicolored confetti drifting through the beams of spotlights form her palette. And at times, it is a beauty that grips the heart.”
— Laura Plas, Les Trois Coups
“The inventiveness of this circus is unparalleled, and that is precisely what we admire most about this company. The disturbance this performance creates continues to provoke and fascinate its audience.”
— Léna Martinelli, Les Trois Coups
“Hourvari unfolds a sequence of living images, where circus acts pulse with energy. The live musical accompaniment—accordion, trumpet, trombone, bass guitar, electric guitars, and theorbo—creates a mood of joyful melancholy and tension.”
— Emilie Ade, Plein-feux
