MERLIN: The Legend of Hope

ABOUT THE MUSICAL

The Legend of Hope is a spectacular new Czech musical that takes audiences to the mysterious island of Avalon. Original music, breathtaking staging and a story whose outcome depends on the courage to perform one final good deed await. Suspense, love, humour and emotion fill the world of the legendary Merlin.

The musical is created by leading Czech artists. It is directed by Lumír Olšovský, one of today’s most prominent Czech musical-theatre directors. The music, lyrics and book are by Lukáš Daniel Pařík, composer and co-creator of the films Princess Cursed in Time.

Merlin is a wizard and wanderer between worlds, maintaining their balance. He arrives in Avalon as hope begins to vanish from the magical realm and his friend King Arthur grows weaker. Unable to intervene directly, Merlin becomes the guide of three heroes. The first is the knight Galahad, who has lost all his memories, including those of his beloved, the lake fairy Lillien. She nevertheless remains by his side, refusing to abandon hope that he will find his way back to her.

The trio is completed by a jester known as Skylark, an incorrigible joker whom no one considers a true hero – least of all himself. Together they journey through the magical world to save the last fragments of hope.

Enter the magical world of Avalon. Merlin awaits you…
