Description
The performance is a playful exploration of sounds, tones, and rhythms, most often performed while standing on one’s hands.
KnockKnock is a poetic and playful journey into the world of sounds and imagination for the youngest children and their companions, who aren’t afraid to hear and see the world a little differently. Two boys discover the secrets of a house under construction, where every tap is the beginning of a tremendous adventure. KnockKnock, directed by Hana Strejčková, was created in close collaboration with composer Michal Müller.
This original production for toddlers, younger children, and older kids plays with comical ideas about who or what is knocking on the door—and on just about anything around us. Where is it coming from—can we hear it? From above, below, from the wall, or is someone outside the window or downstairs? And yet this isn’t just any old knocking—behind each sound lies a story, however small, or characters like Mom or Dad, but also, for example, the wind in a draft, a bouncing ball, or a drop of water. What situations do these sounds lead us into?
And what kind of music can come from them? In the performance KnockKnock, a pair of boys—brothers (performers)—let themselves be surprised, because every nook and cranny in the house under construction sounds different.
KnockKnock is a language-accessible performance in the genre of movement theater with elements of contemporary circus, and is suitable for children ages 1 and up.
The performance has a limited capacity. Tickets are sold at the price of 200 CZK for both children and adults. Children are all valid from 10 months of age.
