ABOUT

From 2019, Czech jazz singer Martina Barta and legendary American vibraphonist David Friedman have performed as a musical duo. Their joint project combines Barta’s velvety voice with a delicate, richly colored vibraphone sound provided by Friedman. At their concert, they will perform songs from their album You Taught My Heart To Sing, which features ballads from the Great American Songbook as well as unique jazz and pop compositions by Burt Bacharach, Carole King, and Jimmy Webb. Their music is intimate, deeply heartfelt, and naturally blends traditional jazz with the personal expression of both artists—all supported by an excellent rhythm section made up of top international musicians.
