Bella Donna

ABOUT THE PLAY

The beginning of the year means a new relationship!

Carmen, a famous cookbook author, has nothing against men, but sooner or later every partner begins to annoy her. She appears to have found a way to prevent that. Instead of an herbal infusion encouraging erotic pleasure, her lover receives a drink made from deadly nightshade—Atropa belladonna—on New Year’s Eve. Her seemingly brilliant plan is disrupted, however, by the arrival of her daughter and future son-in-law.

This brilliant dark comedy by award-winning Austrian playwright Stefan Vögel, starring Kateřina Brožová, brings a wealth of crazy twists and surprising resolutions.
