Vetešnictví Petra Hapky

ABOUT THE CONCERT

The concert project Petr Hapka’s Curiosity Shop pays tribute to the music and personality of one of the most distinctive composers of Czech film and popular music. It imaginatively takes the audience into Petr Hapka’s legendary garage in Okoř, a space filled with objects, memories and inspirations from which his work emerged. Together with the performers, listeners can discover his poetic world and hear both familiar and lesser-known songs from the 1960s and 1970s, originally recorded by rising Czech pop stars including Karel Gott, Hana Hegerová, Hana Zagorová, Karel Zich and others.

The evening is presented in alternating casts by prominent figures of the Czech and Slovak music scene. Regular visitors to the Curiosity Shop include Michal Malátný, Kateřina Marie Tichá, Jitka Čvančarová, Petra Hapková, Hana Holišová, Sára Milfajtová, Lenka Nová, Jan Maxián, Dušan Kollár, Petra Hřebíčková, Jan Sklenář and others. Haštal Hapka is responsible for the dramaturgy, arrangements and musical preparation.
