ABOUT THE CONCERT

In the next instalment of the Bach and His Sons series, Lukáš Verner and his friends — including musicians from the Prague Symphony Orchestra — unleash a veritable fountain of music from the inexhaustible Bach treasury. At last, singing? Yes: a cantata transforms before our eyes into a concert aria with a solo instrument. And is the music really by Johann Sebastian, or by his son Wilhelm? How strongly did Johann Christian influence his young friend Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who takes the imaginary guest’s chair in this programme? The finest surprise comes last, when chief conductor Tomáš Netopil joins “his” musicians on stage.
