ABOUT
The Christmas Oratorio is a large-scale work that Bach composed in Leipzig in 1734–1735. It consists of a total of six cantatas, which were performed on the first, second and third feasts of Christmas, the feast of the Circumcision of the Lord, the Sunday after New Year's Day and the feast of the Epiphany. Due to its large size, only a selection of these cantatas will be presented. We cordially invite you to listen to this unique, joyful and festive composition, telling the story of the coming of Christ into the world.
