ABOUT THE CONCERT

A fresh, predominantly Prague-based folk band whose beginnings date back only to the spring of 2021. Tomáš Hurt, the bandleader and one of the writers of the band's songs, placed an advert for a newly forming group, to which Ondřej Valta responded. Ondra brought another folk songwriter into the emerging band. Zdeněk Kadlec joined them during the year, and in the autumn the original all-male trio was completed by singer Hanka Dvořáková, the band's third songwriter. The current line-up has changed slightly: Kamila Rejmanová has replaced bassist Zdeněk Kadlec. ZHurta's repertoire consists mainly of original folk songs, occasionally reaching into other genres. As one of the few bands fortunate enough to have three songwriters, lyricists and composers, this variety is clearly reflected in their music. They have already released one album, Do duší, which can be heard in full for free on their YouTube channel or downloaded from their website. The band is not entirely new to Příbram stages, having performed at several local events, including festivals, Christmas-tree lighting ceremonies and intimate mini-recitals. It is perhaps no secret that the band is slowly preparing to begin work on its second collection of original folk music. In the newly created programme Folk Veillée, Václav Knechtl will talk with Tom, Ondra, Hanka and Kamča about the preparations for the new recording, the planned future launch—which we already know will be highly unconventional—their appearances on various folk stages and even playing around the campfire until the early hours. As its name suggests, the programme will be a relaxed folk gathering with pleasant music and conversation about the subjects currently occupying the band. Come and experience one of those unforgettable evenings you will enjoy remembering for a long time.
