Bach-Collegium Prague

St. John's Organ Cycle 4/25 | Marie Fuxová - violin

J. S. Bach's Violin Sonata in G major is one of the pinnacles of Baroque violin literature. It is a virtuoso piece that shows the incredible possibilities of this string instrument. The exceptional violinist and member of the Pražák Quartet, Marie Fuxová, will demonstrate her mastery here. J. S. Bach's Organ Concerto in A minor was created by reworking an originally instrumental concerto composed by A. Vivaldi. This practice of adopting compositions was quite common in Bach's time and was considered a distinction for the author of the original composition.
