Description

ABOUT THE CONCERT

The final subscription concert of the 92nd season is crowned by a premiere, as in the previous season. This time it is the world premiere of Saint Adalbert, a festive oratorio by the European composer Ľubica Čekovská, born in Humenné, with a libretto written for the occasion by the distinguished poet Vít Slíva.

Dvořák’s Te Deum is equally celebratory: an expression of gratitude for the season and for the gift of music. It is also a celebration of the human voice, embodied by Kateřina Kněžíková and Svatopluk Sem — the voice around which the music gracefully entwines.
