Description
The Zosima Quartet is a chamber ensemble with an unusual instrumentation – two cellos, a clarinet, and a nyckelharpa.
The ensemble performs original music by Jiří Maršálek, which blends elements of minimalism, early music, and contemporary chamber composition. A distinctive part of its sound is the nyckelharpa, a historical Scandinavian bowed instrument with a characteristically rich resonance. The music of the Zosima Quartet works with long tones, subtle dynamics, and the acoustics of the space, allowing it to naturally stand out, particularly in historical and sacred interiors.
