More Than Mozart! is more than a tribute to dance as an art form — it’s a deep dive into human emotion. There are two contrasting yet connected works by Jiří Kylián at the heart of the evening: Sechs Tänze and Petite Mort. Both are set to the brilliant music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and together they reveal two faces of the human experience. With wit, irony, and a touch of absurdity, Sechs Tänze pokes fun at social norms and pretences. In contrast, Petite Mort is a lyrical, almost mythic celebration of physicality, love, and passion. The evening also features Ballet 102, a playful and inventive duet by Eric Gauthier—former soloist of Stuttgart Ballet and now an acclaimed choreographer—exploring the endless possibilities of ballet positions with humour and flair. Rounding out the program is a new piece by French-born Israeli choreographer and audiovisual artist Lea Bessoudo Greck, who previously collaborated with our company on the acclaimed work Šárka in danENJOY. More than Mozart! promises an evening of contrasts, emotion, and lighthearted charm.
