Description
What better way to spend New Year’s Eve than in the company of famous operetta melodies?
Join us on an express journey towards Paris, Vienna, and beyond. We will commemorate the father of the operetta genre, Jacques Offenbach, and his famous Orpheus in the Underworld, including the can-can. Then, we head to Vienna to visit the King of Waltz and Operetta, Johann Strauss II, because Die Fledermaus belongs to the end of the year as much as sparkling champagne. Franz Lehár will provide a touch of romance with The Merry Widow, and of course, Strauss’s most famous waltzes, polkas, and marches will not be missing.
All performed by sopranos Veronika Rovná and Andrea Široká, tenor Aleš Briscein, and the choir and orchestra of the Janáček Opera NdB under the leadership of Chief Conductor Robert Kružík.
There will also be a special surprise during the intermission.
Only on December 30 at the Janáček Theatre
