ABOUT PERFORMANCE

Her Majesty Elizabeth II is the lead character of Peter Morgan’s play, centred on her weekly audiences given to Prime Ministers. It is in a way a fairy tale about monarchy in the modern world and even though it presents the major British premiers, from Winston Churchill to David Cameron, it is theatre about politicians and everyday politics and all its attendant gimmicks, juxtaposed with a certain timeless archaic principle of control over the democratic government.

Play about everyday polotics and politics in general, "fairytale" about monarchy in the modern world. Peter Morgan confronts politicians and everyday politics and all its attendant gimmicks, juxtaposed with a certain timeless archaic principle of control over the democratic government.It is theater centred around Her Majesty and her weekly audiences given to Prime Ministers. Through different eras in english history you´ll meet Winston Churchil, Margaret Tchatcher, David Cameron and others, because Prime Ministers change but Her Majesty stays yet this play isn´t celebration of the monarchy but mainly offers new perspective of politicians everyday strugle.

The play will be presented under the auspices of Her Excellency Jan Thompson OBE, HM Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Czech Republic.
