The Prague Dance Conservatory’s graduation performance

The Prague Dance Conservatory’s graduation performance invites audiences to glimpse the students’ year-long work, as they present a wide range of dance styles, techniques, and distinctive artistic performances throughout the evening.

The program will be organized into three thematic sections—classical, contemporary, and folk dance—which together will create a vibrant and dynamic portrait of the art of dance in both its contemporary and traditional forms.

The classical repertoire will feature the graceful Pas de quatre from the ballet The Awakening of Flora, a work by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, whose poetic mythological atmosphere continues to enchant with its elegance, lightness, and virtuosity. In scenes inspired by ancient goddesses, the delicate beauty of classical ballet, precise technique, and nobility—which have shaped the world of dance for generations—will come to life.

The contemporary dance segment will explore the ever-relevant theme of “identity.” In this section, an imaginary bridge will be built between various dance styles—contemporary dance, neoclassical technique, and elements of street dance. The individual choreographies will thus become a mutual dialogue about the search for self, individuality, and shared space.

The evening will conclude with Czech and Slovak folk dance, enriched by African-American street dance, dances from Southern and Northern Europe, Mexico, and the Orient.
