“I hope to become someone who will inspire others.”
A pulsating season will draw to a close with a concert featuring a South Korean musical marvel — the violinist Bomsori Kim, a winner of the ARD Munich competition and recipient of prizes from an incredible number of the most demanding international violin competitions — the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels, Jean Sibelius in Helsinki, Joseph Joachim in Hannover, Henryk Wieniawski in Poznan and international competitions in Montreal and Sendai. This violinist, who believes her playing brings people comfort, has played at festivals in Lucerne, Rheingau, Berlin’s Konzerthaus, Vienna’s Musikverein, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo and at the prestigious La Jolla Music Society’s Rising Star Series. A graduate from the Juilliard School, she currently records for two of the world’s biggest labels — Warner Classics and Deutsche Grammophon. She will also be performing on a rare instrument from the workshop of Johannes Baptista Guadagnini from 1774.
