“The notes themselves mean nothing, but they hide a great secret.”
The musical director and chief conductor of the PKF — Prague Philharmonia and head of the Dallas Opera, Emmanuel Villaume, returns to the PKF — LOBKOWICZ Donor Series after two years. This season he will conduct the PKF’s debut at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre in Kuwait; he will conduct three productions at the Dallas Opera in addition to a Gala Concert with Plácido Domingo, and he also returns to the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. In the second concert series this charismatic French artist with a great knowledge of philosophy and literature offers us an interesting programme combining music from the 18th and 21st centuries. The principal flute of the PKF, Jiří Ševčík, will be the soloist in Gluck’s Flute Concerto in G major, considered one of the most beautiful concertos ever written for this instrument.
